1. The eventThe Trofeo Rosso is an amicable motorbike gathering, organised by volunteers, which will take place on the Val de Vienne racetrack on July 27th and 28th 2013. It is based on demonstrations and excludes any notion of competition or ranking. In keeping with this spirit, any timing of participants is strictly forbidden. The rally is open to motorbikes of Italian origin, whether road or sports, racing or registered, classic or modern, as well as side-cars, racing side-cars and sports mopeds. Origin is not restricted for these last two categories. Italian motorbikes should be understood to include machines using either an Italian bike part or an Italian engine (for example: Bimota with a Japanese engine, Laverda-Egli, Aermacchi-Rickman, etc...). In addition, the event includes various activities in relation to Italian motorbikes. Access to the event is free for members of Italian motorcycle clubs and for those accompanying participants. 2. The OrganiserThe Trofeo Rosso is organised by the non-profit organisation "Les Journées Italiennes" (under the French law of 1901) and is supported by various Italian motorcyble clubs. The organiser designates all persons appointed to organise the event. Anyone present at the event must follow the organiser's directives. The organiser may, at any time and without justification, exclude a participant or spectator whose attitude is not in line with the Trofeo Rosso spirit or whose motorbike is deemed to be dangerous; the organiser's decision in this will be final. The organiser may make any modifications to the organisation of the rally, including shortening, or even cancelling, all or part of the runs, in which case the organiser will bear no liability for either total or partial reimbursement. 3. Participants & enrolmentThe organiser validates the full and complete applications and considering the limited number of available places, will not be required to justify any decision not to confirm an application. In the event of non-confirmation, the amount paid at the time of the application will not be cashed and the cheques will be destroyed. In the event of doubts on the part of the organiser before validating an application, a photo of the machine may be requested. The amount to be paid represents the expenses incurred for organisation of the Trofeo Rosso, without any added profit for the organiser. The participants are those that receive confirmation of their enrolment which becomes firm and non-refundable except in the event of the Trofeo Rosso being cancelled by the organiser. In this case refunds would be given to the participants prorata to the amounts paid, less any expenses already incurred by the organiser. The enrolment is nominative and non-transferable. Any modification not declared by the participant may result in his or her exclusion. In particular, for insurance registration purposes, a participant cannot be replaced by another person who is not registered for the event. No refund on enrolment will be possible in the event of a participant’s cancellation within the 3-week period preceding the Trofeo Rosso. With a single enrolment, a participant may use several machines in different runs, subject to prior confirmation by the organiser and prior technical inspection of these machines; each machine must be individually insured for Civil Liability, including track risk cover. Each participant will be given one number per registered machine on a number plate handed out by the organiser, which is to be visibly affixed to the front of each machine. 4. Runs according to machines and experienceFor the sake of safety, the track is open for sessions of approximately 20 minutes, with a distribution in runs according to machine type and participant riding level. The organiser places the participants in the various runs according to the information requested on the application form. Despite this distribution, all participants of a single run do not all have the same level of experience. The participants must take these differences into account. If at the end of a run, a participant wants to change runs, he or she must obtain prior approval from the organiser by undergoing another administrative inspection. Eight runs are on offer:
'Classic motorcycles' refers to all machines with narrow wheels and carburettors. Belt-driven Ducatis of the Pantah generation, due to their performances, will be the exception to this rule as they are considered as modern bikes. Passengers are forbidden on the bikes and a single passenger, registered beforehand, is allowed on DUETTO or BATTESIMO runs. 5. Compulsory protective clothingPilots and passengers will be equipped with leather boots and gloves, leather jacket and trousers or all-in-one suit, and approved full-face crash helmet. Back protection is compulsory in all runs. 6. Insurance6.1 Organisation Civil Liability InsuranceIn accordance with the legal requirements of the decrees of 18-10-1955 and 23-12-1958 and the orders of 01-12-1959 and 17-02-1969, the organiser hereby declares that an Organisation Civil Liability (OCL) insurance policy has been taken out in order to guarantee the financial consequences or civil liability which may be the responsibility of the organiser and the participants due to physical injury or damage to property inflicted on spectators, third parties or the participants themselves, in the event of accident, fire or explosion occurring during the event. This OCL policy also guarantees the organiser's civil liability in relation to persons appointed for the organisation, including the track marshals responsible for safety during the runs. Reminder: insurance guarantees do not apply to persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The organiser is not liable or responsible for damages or theft occurring in relation to the property of participants and those accompanying participants, exhibitors, spectators and all other persons present within the racetrack grounds, for the entire duration of the event. 6.2 Participant Civil Liability InsuranceIn order to guarantee optimal Civil Liability (CL) cover, the organiser requests that riders take out a CL policy and provide a copy of the certificate for the cover of damages caused to third parties while track riding, excluding competition and/or timing.Various cases are listed here:
Consequently the organiser strongly recommends obtaining Civil Liability insurance for the entire weekend. 6.3 Death/Disability InsuranceThe cost of basic enrolment does not include Death/Disability Insurance. In the event of an accident, your medical costs will be borne by your mandatory health scheme and your additional health benefit scheme. Check the actual conditions of your cover for 'High-risk Sports' and if necessary, do not hesitate to take out additional 'Personal Accident' insurance suitable for this type of activity. A minimum insurance solution is offered as an option on your registration, including a Death/Disability guarantee (compensation paid in the event of over 5% disability). Guarantee extensions with daily allowances (DA) are also offered; they enable you to compensate loss of income if you end up on sick leave following an accident on the track. This daily allowance will be paid to you from the 31st day of sick leave and up to the 365th day at the latest (you may also take out policies with extended guarantees with your insurance company). Abbreviations Dth/TPD: Death / Total Permanent Disability - PPD: Permanent Partial Disability - DA: Daily Allowance
We strongly suggest that you take out one of these Guarantees for Death/Partial Permanent Disability by accident. It will not be possible to modify the list sent to the insurance company once on site. 7. Administrative receptionUpon arrival, the participants go straight to the administrative reception area in order to check their registration file. They must provide all documents listed below:
All documents must be valid for the duration of the Trofeo Rosso. A legal guardian's written authorisation is also required for minors. 8. Technical inspectionAfter administrative reception, the organiser checks the technical condition of the machines and if necessary, may temporarily or permanently refuse a machine if its condition is likely to be detrimental to the safety of the event and participants. The machines are presented with all the points below having been carried out and visible for the organiser (lower fairing taken down on bikes and shell removed on race side-cars):
The organiser will place a plastic ring around the fork of any machine deemed approved. No complaints will be accepted in this respect. Machines not approved machines will not be permitted to enter the track. 9. NoiseThe noise level on the machines is limited to 102 décibels, in respect of track rules but also in order to ensure repeat events in future. For the tranquillity of all involved, engines may not be started until 8.00am or after 8.00pm. 10. Rider briefingRider briefing is mandatory ; this is to present the main safety regulations as well as a few particular features of the Trofeo Rosso. The presence of all riders is therefore essential in order to best ensure the safety of all participants. Stickers will be given out at the briefing session; without these stickers, it will not be possible to gain access to the track. 11. Access to the trackAccess to the track will be during the hours of 8.30am-12.20pm and 2.00-6.35pm. Access is forbidden to participants under the influence of alcohol or drugs (random tests will be carried out), to accompanying persons, to spectators and to tow vehicles which are not part of the organisation. Access to the track occurs after passing the pre-grid. The organiser opens the pre-grid 10 minutes before the start of each run, according to the hours provided during the administrative check and only after:
The pre-grid is reserved for participants and machines that have passed the initial inspections. Each subsequent pre-grid passage validates admission of the correct persons and machines to the track for the next run. Machines which were formerly approved, the condition of which has deteriorated with regard to safety or which have crashed, will be rejected and will need to pass an additional technical inspection. At the beginning of each run, the participants ride one reconnaissance lap behind a pilot vehicle. It is forbidden to overtake it. This vehicle leaves the track after the first lap. 12. Track signage and indicationsSignage is set up by FFM-licensed track marshals, placed at the edge of the track. Participants must respect all signage in the form of flags used by the marshals. For the duration of their assignment, the marshals are part of the team set up by the organiser. Six types of flag are used:
Failure to respect signage is a motive for immediate and permanent exclusion for the duration of the event. 13. Pit and track groundsParticipant camping is authorised around the pit grounds, subject to access roads and pathways being left clear. After being unloaded, 4-wheel vehicles belonging to accompanying persons must be taken out and parked on the car parks of the pit. All persons present on the pit must respect the signage. Movement on the pit and at the pre-grid should be kept to a low speed (max 20 km/h). Burns and wheelies, access to the track and stands to under-16s, rollerblades and scooters are forbidden, as is the storage of fuel in the stands. It is not permitted to use mini-motorbikes or similar vehicles within the track grounds. In the event that they are found to have been used, the organiser reserves the right to confiscate any bike or similar vehicle involved. The tarmacked surface must be left free of any deterioration (no stakes, etc.) as must the fences (do not suspend heavy objects on them, etc...). Camp spots are to be left clean at the end of the event; bin bags are provided for this purpose. It is forbidden to walk dogs within the track grounds, even those held on a leash. 14. Health & medical teamThe participants declare that to the best of their knowledge they do not suffer from any illness or disability that may compromise the safety of any person at the event. The organiser will set up a team of specialised doctors and nurses during track opening hours. The track medical HQ and rescue vehicles are made available to this team. This setup is an integral part of the event. The team is to be allowed all necessary freedom of movement and access to carry out their duties, by all present at the event. 15. Images, advertising and commercial activityAny shooting of images for commercial or promotional purposes is subject to the organiser's authorisation. Participants accept that such images may be used by the organiser or any authorised third party. The organiser may enter into business agreements with its own choice of partners and display related advertising wherever the organiser deems best. Any commercial activity not authorised by the organiser before the event is forbidden within the track grounds and access roads. Any advertising for tobacco or alcohol brands on the participants’ clothing or their machines is forbidden, except in the case of proven previous history of such advertising. 16. RulesEvent rules may be modified without notice. Signature of the application form implies complete acceptance of these rules and those of the Val de Vienne racetrack. Consequently failure to respect the rules may lead to exclusion of the machine and/or the participant, in which case no refund will be given on registration costs, the organiser being sole judge of its decisions, which shall be final. |
